Cozy conversational campfire game Fireside Feelings for PC now available

Publisher The CoLab, in collaboration with developer Team Empreintes, has unveiled their latest offering, the cozy conversational campfire game Fireside Feelings, now available for PC on Steam. This innovative title aims to provide players with a serene escape from the complexities of modern life.

Victor Dulon, CEO of Team Empreintes, articulated the inspiration behind the game in a recent press release, stating, “Today’s world can often feel overwhelming for many reasons. It’s easy to forget the joy, compassion, and empathy that come from heartfelt conversations—especially when our professional, political, and personal lives are under constant pressure.” He emphasized the need for a digital space that fosters connection rather than conflict, aiming to cultivate an environment where players can engage in meaningful dialogue.

According to The CoLab, Fireside Feelings embodies the philosophy that “we all need a good talk under the stars.” Players embark on a journey where they can share heartfelt thoughts on a variety of topics, some of which may be challenging yet essential for personal growth. The game allows players to select and customize their avatars from a delightful assortment of six animals, including a besuited bear, a barista bee, and a skater fox.

As players traverse tranquil settings—ranging from serene beaches to lush woodlands and even a nostalgic record store—they encounter Spark, a sentient campfire. Spark guides them through a series of thought-provoking questions designed to elicit empathetic responses. Across the fire sits another animal, representing another player, who shares previously recorded answers to the same questions, creating a reflective and asymmetrical conversation.

Prioritizing player safety, Fireside Feelings anonymizes both the responses and the in-game character names. The game features a moderated database of conversations, ensuring that responses from the other player are not live but curated for safety. Additionally, players have the option to avoid sensitive topics, such as violence or mental health issues, by customizing their discussion parameters at the beginning of the game or through the main menu.

In a commendable effort to support mental health awareness, Team Empreintes and The CoLab have partnered with Safe In Our World, a charity dedicated to mental health in the gaming industry. Players can access resources and support through a link to the Safe In Our World website integrated within the game experience.
