Czech mayor gifts $200 Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 collector’s edition to country’s Prime Minister, elevating the game alongside the Witcher 2 in the company of CRPG state gifts

Warhorse Studios, the creative force behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, has recently stepped into a new realm of recognition, joining the ranks of celebrated titles like The Witcher 2. This notable achievement was highlighted during a government visit to Kuttenberg, where Mayor Lukáš Seifert presented Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala with a Collector’s Edition of the game. The announcement was shared via Warhorse Studios’ official account on X, known as “The Everything App.”

Collector’s Edition Unveiled

This Collector’s Edition is not just any ordinary package; it boasts an impressive array of items that enthusiasts would find hard to resist. Included are:

  • A detailed cloth map
  • A letter opener
  • A striking statue of the protagonist, Henry, on horseback
  • Enamel pins
  • A beautifully crafted letter
  • Illuminated manuscript collectible cards

Such a thoughtful presentation has sparked comparisons to Poland’s gift of The Witcher 2 to former President Barack Obama. However, as noted by PCG news writer Joshua Wolens, this comparison may not do justice to the unique charm of both gifts.

According to records from the Barack Obama Presidential Library, the former president received a Collector’s Edition of The Witcher 2 that included a bust of Geralt, a dice poker set, and an art book, all signed by the development team at CD Projekt Red. Interestingly, while Obama is known to have never played the game, he did receive a PC version, which was a coveted item at the time. In contrast, Prime Minister Fiala was presented with a PS5 version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Despite the playful rivalry between the two gifts, it’s essential to appreciate the significance of Mayor Seifert’s gesture. The recognition of Warhorse Studios’ work at such a high level is a testament to the growing influence of Czech gaming on the global stage. As for the game itself, it has garnered acclaim, with PCG awarding it a stellar 90% in their review, dubbing it “a new RPG classic.” Here’s hoping Prime Minister Fiala enjoys his journey through the world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 as much as the team at PCG did.
