Dead by Daylight’s 2v8 mode is back, and it’s accompanied by two of my favorite killers

During my work breaks, I find myself immersed in the whimsical world of Brian ‘Limmy’ Limond as he navigates the realm of video games. There’s an undeniable sense of Scottish pride in my admiration for his unique blend of absurd humor and dry sarcasm. His commitment to highlighting indie games—often overlooked by mainstream streamers in favor of the latest blockbuster—adds a refreshing layer to his content. Whether he’s unraveling mysteries in The Séance of Blake Manor or humorously mispronouncing ‘Astarion’ in Dead Take, his antics in Dead by Daylight are particularly entertaining, even if I might find myself frustrated if he were on my team. Through a delightful mix of Limmy’s gameplay and guidance from my colleague, Danielle, I’ve absorbed the nuances of DBD, a game I’ve yet to fully dive into. However, with the return of the 2v8 mode featuring my favorite killer, I can feel the allure of The Entity calling me back.

Exciting Developments in Dead by Daylight

The 2v8 mode in Dead by Daylight offers a fresh twist on the game’s traditional isometric gameplay, doubling the number of killers and survivors while placing them in expansive maps. This beloved mode has seen significant growth within the community over the past year, introducing a variety of new characters to its lineup. The upcoming ‘Konami Takeover’ event promises to elevate the excitement, with iconic figures like Dracula and Pyramid Head joining the action, allowing players to embody The Dark Lord himself as they hunt down survivors.

For those who prefer the survivor role, the event also welcomes two new characters: Cheryl Mason from Silent Hill and the legendary vampire hunter Trevor Belmont from Castlevania. Both characters will be available for free during the event, ensuring that all players can join in on the fun.

To further enhance the experience, players can look forward to four themed outfits inspired by Silent Hill and Castlevania for all of Konami’s characters. Trevor can don the guise of his ancestor, Richter Belmont, a nod to the franchise’s rich history, while Dracula’s rare Scorched Terror outfit imagines a sun-kissed version of the classic vampire. On the Silent Hill side, Cheryl Mason’s Awakened Order outfit features her in a gory ritual, while The Executioner sports a gruesome coverall adorned with blood and chains. Personally, I’m drawn to The Dark Lord; there’s something about vampires that captivates me.

Mark your calendars: Dead by Daylight’s Konami takeover event, featuring the return of the 2v8 mode, is set to launch on Thursday, November 6, at 11 am PST / 2 pm EST / 7 pm BST / 8 pm CEST. In the meantime, players can explore our list of active DBD codes for some free in-game rewards.
