Fallout series nominated for 9 Emmys, but not even one of them is for ‘Outstanding Goggins’

The Television Academy has unveiled the nominations for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards, stirring excitement and speculation within the entertainment community. Leading the pack, The Pitt garnered an impressive 25 nominations, followed closely by Widow’s Bay with 19 and Pluribus with 18. However, for those with a keen interest in the intersection of television and gaming, the spotlight shines on the shows inspired by PC games.

PC Game Adaptations and Their Emmy Journey

This year, shows based on PC games have collectively secured nine Emmy nominations. Yet, amidst this achievement, a notable absence looms: none of the actors from these adaptations received individual nominations. Despite their commendable performances, actors such as Ella Purnell as Lucy, Aaron Moten as Max, and Kyle MacLachlan as Hank were overlooked. Even the talented Justin Theroux, who delivered a chilling portrayal of the unhinged Robert House, failed to receive a nod.

Adding to the surprise, Walton Goggins, known for his role as Cooper Howard, also missed out on a nomination. Goggins had previously been recognized for his performance in Fallout Season 1, where he was nominated in 2024, though the award ultimately went to Hiroyuki Sanada for his role in Shōgun. While Sanada’s performance was indeed commendable, many fans felt Goggins delivered an even stronger performance in Season 2, particularly during the pre-war sequences that captivated audiences.

As for the nominees for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama, the list includes Noah Wyle for The Pitt, Mark Ruffalo for Task, Gary Oldman for Slow Horses, Sterling K. Brown for Paradise, and Rufus Sewell for The Diplomat. Each of these actors has made a significant impact in their respective roles, showcasing the depth of talent present in this year’s nominations.

As the awards ceremony approaches, fans of Goggins and the gaming adaptations remain hopeful for recognition in future seasons, particularly with the anticipation building for Fallout’s third season.
