FromSoftware increases average basic salaries by 11.8%

FromSoftware, the renowned developer behind hits like Elden Ring and Armored Core, has announced a significant increase in the average basic salary for its employees, set to rise by approximately 11.8 percent. This decision, highlighted in a recent press release shared by Game World Observer, reflects the company’s commitment to fostering a supportive and rewarding workplace.

Salary Adjustments and Future Aspirations

Effective April 2025, the starting salary for new graduates entering FromSoftware will see a notable increase from ¥260,000 (around ,750) to ¥300,000 (approximately ,000). In their statement, the company emphasized their dedication to creating games that evoke emotion, generate value, and inspire joy among players. They stated, “To this end, we are working towards stable income and a rewarding work environment where our employees can apply themselves to development. The increase in base and starting salaries is one implementation of this policy.”

This announcement comes on the heels of a remarkable period for FromSoftware, marked by the success of Elden Ring, which has surpassed 25 million copies sold since its release. Additionally, the highly anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree expansion achieved impressive sales, moving over five million units within just three days of its launch in June 2024. Not to be overlooked, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon has also made its mark, selling over three million copies since its debut in August 2023.
