Google is changing the way people play games on Android: What it means for users – The Times of India

Google brings major changes to Play Games profiles

Google is set to revolutionize the gaming experience for Android users with a major overhaul to Play Games profiles. The company has announced that starting on September 23, it will begin updating gamer profiles to include a new suite of features and gaming statistics.

The revamped profiles will now showcase gaming stats and milestones from all games installed through Google Play. This move is aimed at creating a more integrated and social gaming experience for users.

Google to collect more data for improved gaming experience

To power these new services, Google will be increasing its data collection on user game usage, including details on which games are played and for how long. This data will be utilized to enhance the overall Google Play gaming experience.

Developers will also continue to receive information about a user’s profile, activity, and in-game purchases to help them enhance their products. Google emphasized that developers may send data to the company about a user’s activity in their games, such as achievements and game progress.

The profile update will be automatic, requiring no action from users. Google assured that a user’s existing privacy settings for their current profile will be used as the default for the new one. Users will still have the option to delete their Play Games profile or their entire Google Account at any time.
