Google Play Store Testing Redesigned Games Tab
The Google Play Store, a vital hub for Android users, is undergoing a makeover in its Games tab. The current layout lacks easy access to specific game genres, but screenshots from a new Play Store build reveal a promising change.
The updated design introduces genre-specific shortcut bubbles, such as Simulation, Puzzle, and Life, directly within the Games tab. These bubbles replace the less noticeable Categories dropdown menu, streamlining the user experience.
By incorporating scrollable genre bubbles into the Top Charts tab as well, Google aims to simplify navigation for gamers. The new UI layout offers a more intuitive way to explore games without the need to dig through a cumbersome list of categories.
While the fate of legacy tabs like Kids, Other devices, and Premium remains uncertain in the new UI, it’s unlikely that these options will disappear entirely. Google is likely to find a way to accommodate these features within the updated design.
As with any APK teardown, features predicted based on code in progress may not always come to fruition in public releases. Stay tuned for further updates on the evolving Google Play Store interface.
