I recently made a game-changing purchase on the Steam Store for just .99 / £5.89 that has completely revolutionized my gaming experience after two decades of using Valve’s digital platform. While I used to swear by Wallpaper Engine, which only set me back .99 / £3.49 a few years ago, a new frame generation app has now taken the crown as one of the best investments I’ve made in the gaming world.
If you’re not familiar with frame gen, it was first introduced by Nvidia with the release of DLSS 3.0 super sampling. By utilizing AI technology, frame gen creates new frames and inserts them between the existing frames rendered by a game, resulting in significantly improved frame rates with minimal loss in image quality compared to rendering at your device’s native screen resolution.
Digital Foundry’s Alex Battaglia recently showcased THS’ “Lossless Scaling” app in a captivating video, and after watching his analysis, I wasted no time in purchasing the app on Steam for less than the cost of a beer in the U.S. or the UK. If you’re a fan of top-notch Steam games like myself, I highly recommend giving Lossless Scaling a try.
