It is within this context that Frosthaven, a digital adaptation of the cherished board game and a sequel to Gloomhaven’s video game version, has quickly cultivated a dedicated following since its Early Access launch on Steam.
Exciting Updates on the Horizon
Released at the end of July, Frosthaven has already achieved a commendable 72% user rating, classified as ‘Mostly Positive.’ Players have had the opportunity to engage with a substantial portion of the game’s tactical solo and co-op gameplay during this Early Access phase. The recent announcement from its developer, Snapshot Games, unveils a detailed roadmap for upcoming updates that promise to enhance the gaming experience significantly.
In October, players can look forward to an update that introduces three new heroes, over 18 new quests, five formidable bosses, and the Unfettered storyline, among other exciting additions. The roadmap indicates that major updates will continue to roll out in January, April, and July of 2026, each bringing a wealth of new content, including additional heroes, quests, bosses, and items. Notably, the Algox and Lurker storyline will also be integrated, culminating in the plot’s finale. In total, more than 80 quests are set to enrich the game throughout its Early Access period, alongside various enhancements designed to refine the overall experience as it approaches its full release.
