Logitech’s no-switch gaming mouse, the Pro X2 Superstrike now available for pre-order

The Logitech Pro X2 Superstrike is poised to usher in a new era in the realm of gaming mice, with its innovative design setting it apart from traditional models. Unlike the standard switches typically found beneath the left and right buttons, this mouse employs cutting-edge inductive sensors that promise to reduce click latency by an impressive margin of 9ms to 30ms. While the full extent of this technological advancement remains to be seen, enthusiasts eager to experience this pioneering device can now secure their pre-orders ahead of the anticipated shipping date on Wednesday, February 11.

Innovative Technology and User Experience

Having had the opportunity to test an early sample of the Superstrike last year, I was immediately struck by the precision and speed of its new inductive sensors during just a brief interaction. However, the real-world implications of this technology in gaming scenarios are still to be evaluated, and I look forward to conducting a thorough review to determine the mouse’s standing among the best in its category, despite Logitech’s bold claims of a “transformational leap.”

The Superstrike technology operates by detecting the pressure applied by the user’s finger, eliminating the need for mechanical switches that require a certain depth of activation. This design allows for instantaneous response times, creating an ultra-fast connection between the user’s movements and the mouse’s actions.

In addition to its rapid response capabilities, the inductive sensor technology offers customization options for the buttons’ responsiveness. Users can adjust the sensitivity to respond to the lightest touch or require a firmer press before the haptic feedback is activated and the signal is transmitted to the PC. This flexibility allows for tailored setups, catering to the demands of various gaming styles or more casual usage.

Beyond its groundbreaking sensor technology, the Superstrike retains a familiar wireless gaming mouse design, echoing the legacy of its predecessors, the G Pro Wireless, G Pro X Superlight, and G Pro X Superlight 2. The mouse features a symmetrical shape with side buttons positioned on one side, diverging from the fully ambidextrous design of the G Pro Wireless, and includes five primary buttons: the Superstrike-equipped left and right buttons, two standard side buttons, and a scroll wheel button.

Equipped with Logitech’s renowned Hero 2 sensor, the Superstrike boasts an impressive DPI range of 100 to 44,000, coupled with exceptional acceleration and speed ratings of 88G and 888IPS. It also supports an 8kHz maximum polling rate wirelessly, though it is limited to 1kHz when connected via USB. Weighing in at 61g, the mouse is relatively lightweight by contemporary standards, and its battery life can extend up to 90 hours, depending on the polling rate settings. Notably, Logitech has not indicated any Bluetooth compatibility for this model, suggesting a focus on wired and wireless USB connections.

For those interested in being among the first to experience this innovative gaming mouse, pre-orders are available on Logitech’s website, priced at 9.99, with shipping set to commence on February 11.
