The findings indicate that Season 4’s files contain multiple mentions of “mystery box logic,” including terms like “cosmic mysteries number” and “BOXOPENHISTORY_CHANGE.” This suggests a connection to the traditional loot box system, but the implications are still unclear.
Curious about the origins of this “old loot box system”? Back in 2024, another dataminer, RivalsLeaks, revealed loot box opening animations among Marvel Rivals’ files. While nothing came of that discovery at the time, it hinted that developer Netease had at least considered the idea of incorporating loot boxes into the game.
This latest revelation could mirror that earlier situation, possibly indicating that Netease is merely repurposing existing code.
