This announcement comes from developer and publisher Atlus, who shared the news via Twitter, nearly nine months after the game first graced the market.

Sales Journey

Upon its release, Metaphor: ReFantazio made a remarkable impact, selling one million units on its very first day. The subsequent nine months have seen this figure double, highlighting a steady and growing interest in the title. In comparison, other games within the genre have achieved varying levels of success; for instance, Persona 5 Royale has sold over 7.25 million copies, while Persona 3 Reload has reached over two million units since its launch in February 2024. These titles benefit from being part of well-established franchises, naturally attracting a larger audience.

Atlus character designer Shigenori Soejima expressed gratitude to fans, stating, “Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us,” as the company celebrated this significant sales achievement. Upon its debut in October 2024, Metaphor: ReFantazio quickly gained traction, becoming the third highest-grossing game on Steam during its launch week, a testament to its initial reception and ongoing popularity.
