Warner Bros. has officially unveiled the title for the highly anticipated sequel to the beloved Minecraft Movie during the recent CinemaCon event. This announcement comes after the studio confirmed the project last October, generating excitement among fans and industry insiders alike.

The sequel, aptly named A MINECRAFT SEQUEL, was disclosed by Jonathan Sim of ComingSoon, who shared the news on X (formerly Twitter) during the event. Scheduled for release on July 23, 2027, the film will see director Jared Hess return to helm the project, with Chris Galletta co-writing the screenplay.

In an exciting addition to the cast, Kirsten Dunst has joined a lineup that includes Jack Black and Jason Momoa. Momoa recently shared his enthusiasm for the project during an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s show, stating, “Bro, end of April. They’re in it. The script is even better. It’s so good, I was laughing out loud. I haven’t laughed out loud in a very long time at a script. I was perplexed on the first script; this one, I’m laughing out loud.”
