Minecraft-inspired crypto voxelverse and world-building game Hytopia is inviting creators to unleash their imagination by developing web-based mini-games using its innovative development kit, enhanced by artificial intelligence. This initiative is part of a new competition centered around “vibe coding,” where participants can win cash prizes for their creative efforts.
Competition Details
The competition will run for a span of 14 days, during which creators can submit their projects. Following the submission period, judges will take an additional week to evaluate the vibe-coded outputs. Vibe coding, a term gaining traction, refers to the process of coding through a conversational interaction with an AI assistant. This approach allows users of varying skill levels to brainstorm ideas without the burden of intricate coding, as the AI manages the technical details.
“Vibe coding brothers, assemble! Time to vibe some better, faster, wilder multiplayer games,” declared Hytopia’s co-founder, ArkDev, on X (formerly Twitter).

To enter the competition, builders must utilize the Hytopia SDK and ensure that their mini-game is “at least 80% AI coded,” as specified in the submission guidelines. The entry window opens on April 1, allowing participants to submit their creations until April 15. Following this, community playtesters will have a week to engage with the games, provide feedback, and cast their votes for the standout entries.
The competition offers enticing rewards, with the top prize set at ,500 for the winner, while second and third place will receive ,000 and 0, respectively.
Vibe-coded games gained momentum in late February with the introduction of a virtual flight simulator, which caught the attention of tech magnate Elon Musk, who remarked that “AI gaming will be massive.” However, industry veterans caution that while prototype development may be feasible through vibe coding, achieving production-quality code for a blockbuster game is unlikely from a few coding sessions. Instead, this method serves as a rapid way to explore game design concepts and generate functional ideas, though seasoned developers remain unfazed by the trend.
Originally launched in 2022 as NFT Worlds, Hytopia aimed to sell NFT-based land deeds within a custom Minecraft-inspired universe. However, following Mojang’s announcement to prohibit NFTs on its game servers, the developers pivoted to create their own game, retaining the essence of their original vision.
