A note on the admission process
Recently, we encountered an oversight during our admission process, which was brought to our attention by the community after the announcement of the finalists and the commencement of voting. In the midst of the excitement surrounding the review of community submissions, our team inadvertently overlooked that the Tree Village Build incorporated blocks from multiple biomes.
While we recognize that this Build was crafted with good intentions, we ultimately made the difficult decision to remove it from Grand Prize consideration. Nevertheless, due to the overwhelming support it garnered from both the community and our esteemed judging panel—including the filmmakers—we have chosen to honor it with a special mention. The Tree Village Build will be featured in the movie alongside the finalists and the overall winner.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce that another semifinalist, the Tranquil Taiga Tower, will also be included in the final movie. This Build would have advanced to the finals had we identified the extra biome blocks in the Tree Village Build sooner. We believe this approach not only addresses the situation fairly but also showcases the remarkable creativity of our community in the final film.

How will the Builds show up in the movie?
The exact placements of the Builds in the movie remain a closely guarded secret for now, so audiences will have to stay alert when the film premieres! While we cannot guarantee specific locations, rest assured that every Build included will either feature prominently in the movie or be acknowledged in the end credits.
Will the Builds look exactly the same in the movie?
All Finalist Builds are making the transition from Minecraft to the cinematic world of A Minecraft Movie Squared. While minor adjustments may be necessary for the film, the filmmakers are committed to preserving the unique creativity and spirit that made each Build special.
Why didn’t you restart the vote once you discovered the issue?
Restarting the voting process after substituting the Tree Village Build with another semifinalist would have meant that the other finalists would lose all the votes they had already received. We believe it is more beneficial to include a wider array of Builds in the movie rather than forcing everyone to start from scratch and endure the voting process again.
Why are you still including the Tree Village Build in the movie if it’s not a finalist?
The Tree Village Build is a standout creation that has garnered significant popularity within the community. We do not wish to diminish the recognition it has already received due to the oversight in evaluating the Build. Our commitment is to prioritize our community in every decision we make, and including the Tree Village aligns perfectly with that principle.
