Japanese publishing giant Capcom has once again demonstrated its formidable prowess in the gaming industry, achieving record profits for the eighth consecutive financial year. In its latest report covering the 12 months ending March 2025, the company announced a remarkable gross profit of ¥98.8 billion (7 million), reflecting a robust 16 percent increase compared to the previous year.
Financial Highlights
Capcom’s financial performance showcases a commendable trajectory, with net sales climbing 11.3 percent to reach ¥169.6 billion (.1 billion). Operating income also saw a significant boost, rising 15.2 percent year-on-year to ¥65.8 billion (4 million). These figures underscore the company’s strategic positioning and effective management within a competitive market.
The driving force behind these impressive results is Capcom’s thriving video games division. The company reported the sale of 51.87 million units during the financial year, marking an increase of five million units over the previous year. A standout performer in this lineup was Monster Hunter Wilds, which achieved the remarkable feat of selling ten million copies within its first month of release. This success not only bolstered Capcom’s overall sales but also positively impacted other titles in the Monster Hunter series, leading to increased sales across the board.
As Capcom looks ahead to the 2025/26 financial year, the company is optimistic about its growth trajectory. Projections indicate net sales could reach ¥190 billion (.28 billion), with operating income expected to rise to ¥73 billion (2 million). If these predictions hold true, it would mark the ninth consecutive year of record profits for the venerable Japanese firm, further solidifying its status as a powerhouse in the gaming industry.
