This marks the debut title from a studio co-founded by renowned pixel artist Pedro Medeiros, who previously contributed to the acclaimed Hyper Light Drifter soundtrack alongside composer Disasterpeace.

Neverway promises to weave together an intriguing tapestry of elements: late-night brooding, encounters with the ominous Horrors, and the chance to forge connections with a cast of endearing oddballs, all while managing a farm. However, to liken it merely to Stardew Valley would be an oversimplification. The debut trailer reveals a rich narrative filled with unsettling dungeon explorations that far exceed the typical turnip-planting experience.
Players will step into the shoes of Fiona, who embarks on a new life on a haunting farm as the “immortal herald of a dead god.” This premise, described by Coldblood as “a nightmarish life sim RPG,” is sure to captivate those drawn to the darker side of fantasy. The footage showcases a variety of activities including fishing, farming, crafting, and decorating, all set against a backdrop that is both enchanting and eerie. The cutscenes featured in the trailer particularly stand out, hinting at a narrative depth that could resonate with players.
In a notable turn of events, Medeiros departed from Extremely Ok Games, where he was involved with the project Earthblade, due to creative challenges and a slow development pace. Studio director Maddy Thorson emphasized in a blog post that the Neverway team should not be viewed as adversaries, urging the community to support their endeavors instead.
