Oblivion Remastered is already the third-best-selling game of 2025 in the US, industry analyst says

Industry analyst Mat Piscatella has revealed that Oblivion Remastered has quickly ascended to become the third-best-selling game of 2025 in the United States, a remarkable feat for a title originally released in 2006. While some may argue about the rankings within The Elder Scrolls series, with Piscatella himself noting that it was the best-selling game of the week, the numbers speak volumes about its current success.

Reviving Nostalgia

For many gamers, Oblivion Remastered serves as the long-awaited “new” Elder Scrolls experience, filling a void since Skyrim launched in 2011. As PC Gamer’s Morgan Park pointed out, those who were just nine years old when Oblivion first debuted are now 29, bringing a fresh perspective to the game. The updated graphics, user interface, and other enhancements have transformed the experience, making it appealing even to those who played the original.

Piscatella’s insights extend beyond sales figures. He noted that Oblivion Remastered topped the charts on Steam in the US for total weekly active users during the week ending April 26, while also securing fourth place on Xbox consoles and fifteenth on PlayStation. The game’s performance on Steam has been particularly impressive, consistently ranking near the top of the best-sellers chart. With over 87,000 concurrent players logged in at 3 PM ET on a Monday, it’s clear that Oblivion Remastered is resonating with both new and returning players alike.
