Outersloth partners with Slay the Spire maker Casey Yano

In a notable development for the indie gaming scene, Innersloth’s publishing division, Outersloth, has formed a partnership with Casey Yano, the creative mind behind the acclaimed game Slay the Spire. This collaboration promises to invigorate the indie gaming landscape, as it brings together established talent and fresh ideas.

New Collaborations and Funding Opportunities

Outersloth recently announced this partnership on their website, revealing that Yano will be joined by another esteemed indie developer, whose identity remains under wraps. This strategic alliance comes on the heels of Outersloth securing funding from these developers, although the exact financial details have not been disclosed.

What is clear, however, is that Outersloth is expanding its portfolio significantly, with 13 games already signed up for development. Community manager Victoria Tran expressed enthusiasm about the implications of this funding, stating, “All it means is we have even more money every year to fund games.”

Tran emphasized that while the core team—comprised of Forest, herself, and their colleagues Kristi, Mike, and Sam—will continue to manage operations, Yano and the anonymous developer will play a crucial role in evaluating game pitches. “If a game is funded by either one of them, we’ll be sure to announce it with appropriate credits so you know who chose what,” she noted.

The flexibility of this partnership allows Yano and their mysterious counterpart to determine the extent of their financial contributions. Tran clarified, “So while we can’t say it increases Outersloth’s available pool of funds by [x] amount, we can guarantee they are indeed regularly throwing down some cold hard cash to get some cool games made.”

This collaboration not only enhances Outersloth’s funding capabilities but also signals a commitment to fostering innovative gaming experiences. As the indie game development community watches closely, the potential for exciting new titles looms on the horizon.
