STALKER 2 Update 1.1.3 Released, Is 7.4GB, Full Patch Notes

GSC GameWorld has rolled out a new title update for the PC version of STALKER 2, designated as Patch 1.1.3. This update, similar in size to its predecessor at approximately 7.4GB, serves primarily as a hotfix rather than a comprehensive overhaul of the gameplay experience.

Patch Highlights

Patch 1.1.3 introduces a temporary workaround aimed at mitigating crashes during shader compilation. By allowing players to skip the shaders warm-up phase, those who previously encountered stability issues can now seamlessly transition into gameplay. It’s worth noting that during testing on an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, the game did not crash at this stage, suggesting that users experiencing issues may want to investigate the stability of their own systems.

In addition to addressing shader-related crashes, the patch resolves several ACCESS VIOLATION ERROR crashes and rectifies a problem where controls could be lost after shooting, reloading, and examining artifacts. Furthermore, developers have implemented a solution for backing up user save files, conveniently located at:

This update is designed to be compatible with various mods, including those that enhance gameplay mechanics such as a Parkour-like climbing system and unrestricted fast travel across the map. Notably, a recent mod allows players to loot all mutants, a feature reminiscent of previous STALKER titles that was omitted in STALKER 2. Additionally, there are mods available that remove inventory carry limits and enable real-time dynamic flashlight shadows, alongside enhancements to the game’s graphics.

As always, Steam will automatically download this update the next time users launch the client. Below is the complete changelog for Patch 1.1.3:
