AYANEO Reveals Details About the Pocket DS
The AYANEO Pocket DS is generating excitement among fans of the Nintendo DS and 3DS with its dual-screen design. The device was recently unveiled, and more information was shared in a follow-up livestream.
Featuring a 7-inch 165Hz OLED screen on the top and a 5-inch LCD panel on the bottom, the Pocket DS is ideal for retro gaming and running two apps simultaneously. The thin metal build at the top contrasts with the plastic body and ergonomic grips, creating a comfortable handheld experience.
The device boasts TMR sticks, linear Hall effect triggers, and full membrane microswitch buttons. Custom software allows for seamless transitions between screens and conserving battery life by deactivating one screen.
Powered by the Snapdragon G3 Gen 2 chip, the Pocket DS can handle a wide range of games, including Nintendo Switch titles. With an 8,000mAh battery and fast charging capabilities, extended gaming sessions are possible.
Pricing for the Pocket DS is estimated to fall between 5 and 5, making it a competitive option in the premium Android gaming handheld market. The Indiegogo campaign is set to launch in late August, with shipping expected to begin in November.
