Ubisoft’s live-service pirate sim Skull and Bones pulls into port on Steam this August

Skull and Bones Sets Sail for Steam

Ubisoft’s pirate simulation game, Skull and Bones, has had its fair share of criticism since its release. With a mix of underwhelming gameplay systems and an abundance of live-service elements, it failed to impress many players. Despite receiving a modest 68% score in our review, it still left some wanting more, like Tyler Wilde who found himself yearning for the adventures of Sea of Thieves instead.

However, Ubisoft is not giving up on Skull and Bones just yet. Following a free week trial and the launch of its second season, the game is now making its way to Steam on August 22. The Steam page is already live for those eager to take a peek.

For players who have invested hours into the game on other platforms, Ubisoft assures that progress will carry over seamlessly to Steam. By linking your Steam account to your Ubisoft account, you can continue your journey without missing a beat.

As the game continues to evolve, I am curious to see how players will react on Steam. Will the updates have transformed Skull and Bones into a must-play experience, or will familiar issues persist? The user reviews will undoubtedly shed light on the current state of the game and its dedicated player base.
