Preliminary investigations suggest that the assailant, a teenager, was allegedly acting under duress from unidentified individuals who communicated with him through a messaging platform. Reports indicate that these individuals threatened to inflict harm on the teenager’s relatives if he did not comply with their demands, as detailed by UNN citing the Zakarpattia Oblast police.
According to preliminary data, the teenager may have acted under the influence and psychological pressure of unidentified individuals with whom he communicated through one of the messengers, and met through an online game. In particular, he reported receiving threats of harm to his relatives if he did not comply with the demands.
Further investigations revealed that the weapon used in the incident was a blank gun that had been modified into a functional firearm. Authorities are currently engaged in a thorough investigation to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the shooting and identify those involved in orchestrating the event. The police are also scrutinizing the communication channels that may have influenced the minor’s actions.
This incident has been classified under Part 1 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to acts of terrorism. The Uzhhorod District Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the pre-trial investigation.

Earlier today, a 15-year-old student discharged several rounds from a pistol within the school premises, resulting in injuries to a classmate. Fortunately, the injured student received prompt medical attention, and his life is not in jeopardy. Following the incident, the shooter fled the scene but was apprehended by patrol police within minutes. Subsequently, investigators detained the minor in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
