North American and European owners of the Lucid Air can now elevate their driving experience by connecting their Android™ smartphones to their vehicles, thanks to a recent update. This enhancement comes as part of Lucid Group, Inc.’s commitment to providing cutting-edge technology in its electric vehicles.
Seamless Integration with Android Auto
As of June 16, 2025, the Android Auto Smart Driving Companion Application is now accessible in all Lucid Air vehicles through an over-the-air update to Lucid OS 2.7.0. This update allows owners to effortlessly access their preferred Android smartphone applications for maps, media, and messaging directly on the expansive 34-inch Glass Cockpit of the Lucid Air, either via USB or wirelessly.
Dr. Jean-Philippe Gauthier, Head of Software Engineering for Lucid, expressed enthusiasm about this development, stating, “Android Auto is one of the most requested features by Lucid owners, and we are delighted to announce that we have begun rolling out a software update to add this capability. Android Auto with Lucid Air’s expansive Glass Cockpit builds upon our commitment to compromising nothing by enhancing comfort and convenience for owners.”
To utilize Android Auto in the Lucid Air, owners must have an Android phone running version 9.0 or higher, an active data plan, and a compatible USB cable. For those with Android 11 or higher, the option to connect wirelessly is available, eliminating the need for a physical connection to the vehicle.
