Popularity of Third-Party Apps
When it comes to third-party applications, the interest among Android Auto users is notable. A separate poll focusing on video playback capabilities revealed that nearly half of the 1,700 respondents utilize apps outside the Play Store. Noteworthy mentions include Fermata Auto and CarStream, which allow users to watch videos while on the go. In contrast, just over 20% of participants stick to apps available on the Play Store, while 26% remain unaware of the potential for third-party app integration.
Desire for Video Playback Support
Another poll explored user interest in video playback support on Android Auto. Out of 3,459 votes, 50% indicated they would appreciate official support for video playback when parked, while 40% expressed a desire for this feature to be available while driving for passengers. Only a small fraction, 2%, felt that Android Auto should focus on other areas, and 7% stated they wouldn’t use video playback at all.
