An ongoing issue with the TomTom Go app has left users grappling with a frustrating lack of support for Android Auto, rendering in-car navigation nearly unusable. However, relief is on the horizon as the company has acknowledged the problem and is diligently working on a solution.
While many Android Auto users gravitate towards popular navigation apps like Google Maps or Waze, TomTom Go remains a noteworthy alternative. This app, reminiscent of the once-ubiquitous TomTom navigation units, offers a suite of features designed to enhance the driving experience. Users can expect real-time traffic updates, road condition alerts, speed notifications, and even the ability to locate fuel stations along their route, complete with price comparisons. A significant advantage of the TomTom Go app is its subscription model, which ensures an ad-free experience for its users.
Recently, however, a wave of complaints has emerged from TomTom Go users regarding its compatibility with Android Auto. Feedback on the app’s Play Store page reveals that many users are experiencing difficulties, with some reporting that the app fails to appear on their Android Auto interface altogether. Others have noted that the app continues to request location permissions, despite these permissions already being granted.
