Google is refining the user interface of its Gemini platform, enhancing both the web and Android app experiences. The adjustments aim to create a more cohesive look and feel across devices, particularly focusing on the text field on the Gemini website.
The updated text field now mirrors the design of the mobile app more closely. Notably, the ‘plus’ or “Upload Image” icon has been repositioned to the far left, making it the first element users encounter. For those with Advanced subscriptions, this menu provides convenient access to a variety of options, including Images, Files, Drive, and Code folder.
Following the upload icon, users will find the “Ask Gemini” feature, with the microphone icon at the end now filled in for a more polished appearance. Additionally, the pill-shaped text box has transitioned from a raised container to a sleek, thin outline, a change that is now widely available across the platform.
More on Gemini:
In parallel, the Android app is introducing model identification features. Users will notice “Gemini Advanced” prominently displayed on the homepage, accompanied by “1.5 Pro” nestled between the history and account menu options. In chat conversations, “1.5 Pro” will replace the previous designation of “Gemini Advanced.” However, this feature is still in the rollout phase and may not be accessible to all users just yet.
Additionally, Google has recently incorporated a “Saved info” option into the account menu, which directs users to gemini.google.com/saved-info in a new browser window, further enhancing the functionality of the platform.
