In March 2025, Google has commenced the rollout of its latest security update for eligible Pixel devices, following a significant feature enhancement. The company has shared its March security changelog within its community, indicating that the patch is now available for a range of devices, including the Pixel 6 series through to the Pixel 9, as well as the Pixel Fold, 9 Pro Fold, and Pixel Tablet. Users with a Pixel 6, Pixel 7, Pixel 8, and Pixel Fold will receive update version BP1A.250305.019, while the Pixel 9 series will see vBP1A.250305.020, and the Tablet will be updated to vBP1A.250305.020.T2.
This month’s security update addresses a variety of issues affecting the Pixel lineup, including enhancements in display stability and performance for the Pixel Fold and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Additionally, every eligible Pixel device will benefit from fixes related to camera and WebView stability. Notably, the update also resolves an audio issue that has troubled users trying to adjust call volume while using Bluetooth headsets, although this particular fix does not apply to the Pixel 6 series.
The detailed changelog for March includes:
- A resolution for an issue that occasionally caused the color theme in the launcher preview to misalign with the selected wallpaper under certain conditions.
- A fix for home screen icons appearing transparent after unlocking or switching apps in specific scenarios.
- Improvements addressing app-switching issues when utilizing third-party launchers.
- Corrections for themed icons that did not display correctly in certain instances.
- General enhancements aimed at improving performance and stability during various UI transitions and animations.
According to Google’s Android Security Bulletin, Pixel users will receive nine framework fixes, all categorized under the “High” severity label. Additionally, 21 fixes are being introduced to the Pixel Systems to bolster user security. Among these, two noteworthy fixes—CVE-2024-43093 and CVE-2024-50302—are highlighted as potentially subject to limited, targeted exploitation.
Users are encouraged to promptly download these security patches to ensure their devices remain adequately protected. This monthly security update began rolling out on March 4, just hours after Google unveiled its extensive Pixel feature drop. This update introduces exciting new functionalities for both phones and the Pixel Watch, including Loss of Pulse detection and menstrual cycle tracking for the Pixel Watch 3. Furthermore, Pixel phones will soon benefit from scam detection alerts for both texts and calls, while the Find My Device app will enhance location sharing capabilities between users and their trusted contacts.
