Google has been diligently working on a revamped account switcher since last August, aiming to enhance user experience across its suite of applications. This redesign is now making its way into several key apps, including Translate, Wallet, and Tasks, with a more user-friendly interface that mirrors the web version.
Streamlined User Experience
The updated account switcher is gradually rolling out in versions 9.9.58.761479923.3-release for Translate, 25.20.761154377 for Wallet, and 2025.05.19.760395213.0-release for Tasks. Users may have already noticed this new design in Google Maps, and earlier APK teardowns hinted at its presence in Calendar and Keep as well.
Previously, switching accounts required multiple taps, which could be cumbersome. Users had to navigate through their primary account, select “Manage your Google account,” and then tap their email to access a menu of other accounts. This process was not only tedious but also time-consuming.
The redesigned interface simplifies this experience significantly. Now, users will see their primary account’s profile photo prominently displayed at the top, accompanied by a “Manage your Google Account” option. Below this, a collapsible “Switch account” menu allows for quick access to other accounts, the option to add another account, and settings for managing accounts on the device.
This streamlined approach reduces the number of taps required to switch accounts, a welcome change for those juggling multiple Google profiles. While the new design has yet to be implemented across all Google apps, it is anticipated that further rollouts will follow shortly.
