Pixel 10 users have recently faced a wave of software instability following the release of last week’s October update. Reports indicated that many devices, particularly the Pixel 10 Pro, experienced unexpected app crashes, rendering them nearly unusable. Users found themselves grappling with apps that would hang indefinitely on their splash screens, leading to frustration and a search for solutions.
Google’s Response to the Issue
In response to the mounting complaints, Google began rolling out a fix yesterday, targeting the root of these app crashes. This resolution is reportedly implemented server-side, which means that affected users should already be noticing improvements without needing to take any additional steps on their devices.
Artem Russakovskii, founder of APKMirror, confirmed the deployment of the fix via X, stating:
Alright, got confirmation that the Pixel crashing/hanging apps fix is server-side. There will be a post-mortem within Google, but I’m not sure if it will be made public. Incidents like this one cannot happen again. The Android System Intelligence issue is still being worked on.
This timely intervention is particularly welcome, as the previous instability made it challenging for users to perform even basic tasks on their phones. As the dust settles, many are eager to hear from fellow Pixel 10 owners about their experiences. If you encountered issues with your device, have you noticed any improvements since the fix was implemented? Your feedback could provide valuable insight into the effectiveness of Google’s response.
