Samsung Health now makes it easier to access your health records

Samsung is set to enhance its Health app with a significant update that promises to streamline how users manage their health information. This upgrade introduces a suite of features designed to facilitate access to health records, medication management, and food intake tracking, all tailored for users in the United States.

New Features for Enhanced Health Management

At the heart of this update is a newly integrated health records feature, developed in collaboration with b.well Connected Health. This partnership allows users to access a comprehensive array of medical records directly within the app. Users can expect to find essential information such as vaccination records, hospital visits, and prescription histories. Moreover, the feature aims to provide valuable insights and alerts for preventative care, suggesting necessary medical tests or actions to maintain optimal health.

In addition to health records, the app’s medication tracking capabilities have received a notable upgrade. Users can now utilize their smartphone cameras to scan medication bottles, automatically adding them to their personal medication list. This functionality not only simplifies the tracking process but also enables users to monitor their adherence levels and medication progress with ease. Furthermore, the app offers warnings for over 960 types of allergies and potential reactions to medications, enhancing user safety.

The update also introduces a barcode scanning feature for food items. By scanning a product’s barcode, users can effortlessly log the item into their food tracker, gaining instant access to information such as the food’s name, calorie count, and nutritional facts. Initially available in the U.S. and select European markets—including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Poland—Samsung plans to expand this feature to additional countries in the near future.
