The Pixel Weather app just got a handy update for unit measurements

What you need to know

Google has enhanced the Pixel Weather app, introducing a streamlined approach to switching between measurement units. This update, part of version 1.0.20250106.720365328.release, includes a dedicated page that allows users to easily select their preferred units for rain, wind speed, pressure, and visibility.

Since its debut alongside the Pixel 9 lineup in August 2024, the Pixel Weather app has garnered positive feedback for its modern design and insightful weather summaries. However, the previous method of changing measurement units proved cumbersome, as it required users to adjust their phone’s language or regional settings, inadvertently impacting other applications.

With this latest update, users can now navigate to Profile icon > Pixel Weather settings > Weather units to customize their measurement preferences without the hassle of altering broader system settings. For temperature adjustments, the “Temperature” page remains the designated area to make those changes.

The Pixel Weather app continues to prioritize simplicity and clarity, presenting essential weather information at a glance. Users can effortlessly access current temperatures, upcoming forecasts, and additional details such as humidity and wind speed, all within an intuitive layout.

This update marks a significant improvement for Pixel Weather users, granting them complete control over their measurement units while ensuring that other applications remain unaffected. The new features are currently being rolled out through the Play Store for supported Pixel devices.
