Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB now supports M7i, R7i, M7g, and R7g database instances in Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region

Amazon has expanded its offerings for the Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), now supporting M7i, R7i, M7g, and R7g database instances in the Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region. This enhancement marks a significant step forward in database performance and efficiency.

New Instance Types and Capabilities

The M7i and R7i instances are the latest additions based on Intel architecture, boasting a maximum instance size of 48xlarge. This upgrade translates to a remarkable 50% increase in vCPU and memory compared to the previous M6i and R6i instance types.

On the other hand, the M7g and R7g instances leverage the power of the AWS Graviton2 Processor, delivering up to 20% higher network bandwidth than their predecessors, the M6g and R6g instances. This advancement not only enhances performance but also optimizes resource utilization for demanding applications.

For those interested in exploring pricing and regional availability, the Amazon RDS pricing page provides comprehensive details. Users can easily create any of these fully managed database instances using the Amazon RDS Management Console.
