Minecraft to get Wilderness Bound update – new biome, disposable bed, and more to be added

Mojang Studios has announced the Wilderness Bound update for Minecraft, previously known as update “26.3.” This update will introduce a new biome called the Dappled Forest, featuring poplar trees with red, yellow, and orange leaves, as well as abandoned camps and mushroom beds. Players will also be able to craft a disposable block called the "straw bed," which allows them to skip the night without changing their spawn point, but it will disintegrate after use. Additionally, players can create a pillow from a "wool slab" for seating. The release date for the update is not yet announced, but it is expected in the coming weeks.

Minecraft 26.3 Pre-Release 1 patch notes: Number system overhaul, bug fixes and more

Mojang has launched the pre-release phase for Minecraft Java Edition 26.3, introducing the Wilderness Drop. The pre-release includes extensive bug fixes and a technical upgrade to the Number Provider system, which has been restructured into separate registries for integer and float calculations. Minecraft 26.3 Snapshot 7

The 26.3 Snapshot 7 update introduces new features including Concrete Stairs and Slabs in 16 colors, and Explorer Maps that lead to various Abandoned Camps in multiple biomes such as Bamboo Jungle, Cherry Grove, Birch Forest, and others. Significant structures like Ancient City and Desert Pyramid also have new maps. Changes include updated loot tables for Abandoned Camp Barrels and adjustments to player icons on maps. Explorer Maps are now distinct items with unique icons, and existing maps will convert to the new item type upon loading.
