Microsoft releases emergency updates to fix Windows Server issues

Microsoft has confirmed that some administrators are experiencing difficulties installing the KB5082063 security update on Windows Server 2025. This month's Patch Tuesday updates have caused certain Windows servers, especially those with domain controller roles, to enter a restart loop due to failures in the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS). Microsoft has released emergency out-of-band updates, including KB5091157 for Windows Server 2025, to address both the installation failure and the restart issues. Additionally, some Windows Server 2025 devices may boot into BitLocker recovery mode after installing the KB5082063 update. A bug affecting Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server 2022 that caused unexpected upgrades to Windows Server 2025 has also been resolved. Microsoft has issued various emergency updates throughout the year to address other issues, including a Bluetooth device visibility bug and vulnerabilities in the Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS).

A new Project Zomboid update could make multiplayer servers much more deadly

The upcoming update for Project Zomboid, build 42.17, will enhance the sandbox experience and multiplayer gameplay with various improvements. Players can choose any 'Exclusion Zone' town as their starting point in sandbox mode, although occupational spawns are limited to four 'canon' towns. The update introduces a new selection of VHS tapes for skill training, which can be found throughout the game world. Balancing adjustments include increased points for the Smoker and High Thirst traits, a reduced cost for the Nutritionist trait, and changes to how Chefs and Farmers function. Loot drop rates for 'other loot' have been increased, and vehicles in Apocalypse mode are more likely to contain fuel. Stendo's Firearms Emporium is being updated for better consistency in store loot. A prototype feature allowing players to enable sprinters in multiplayer has been introduced, adding urgency to gameplay. The Indie Stone is also working on improving controller support based on player feedback.

Tragic android puzzle game Save My Scrap launches this month

Save My Scrap is a visual novel / puzzle game set to be released on Windows PC via Steam on April 22nd, followed by releases for the Switch and PS5 on April 30th, and Xbox Series X|S on May 28th. Players will take on the role of a mechanic for androids who receives a request from a doctor named Miomaru and his aging android, Harima. The game involves engaging in mini-games to fix Harima's parts, interacting with the characters to uncover their story, and gaining insights into the game's world and culture through radio channels. Additional features on Steam include new conversations and endings, unlockable gallery mode, and additional controller support.

This is not a drill: All-timer weirdo game Deadly Premonition now playable on Linux as of Valve’s most recent Proton beta, plus 17 others and your EA library (until EA breaks it again)

Improvements have been made in VR support for "No Man's Sky," and many other gameplay and performance enhancements have been implemented across various titles. Proton 11 beta 1 is based on Wine 11.0 and includes updates to several components, including vkd3d, dxvk, and Wine Mono.
