What’s new in Minecraft? Third Drop 2026 features and more details

Minecraft 26.3 Snapshot 8

Minecraft 26.3 Snapshot 7 patch notes: Concrete Stairs, Concrete Slabs, and more

The dappled forest biome features poplar trees and red shrubs, with hidden treasures like an abandoned tent. Abandoned camps include a tent, campfire, straw bed, and cushions. The wool block set now includes soft stairs and slabs in 16 colors. Poplar trees yield crafting materials, red shrubs add color, and shelf mushrooms can be used in various ways. Players can explore these features by enabling snapshots for Minecraft: Java Edition or activating previews/beta for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.

Minecraft 26.3 Snapshot 4 is a big update hiding under the hood

Minecraft's Snapshot 26.3 update transitions the Java Edition from GLFW to SDL3, improving window management, input handling, and platform support. It uses SDL scancodes for key positions and SDL keycodes for text shortcuts, enhancing control responsiveness. The Raw Input mouse option has been removed, and players can switch between Borderless and Exclusive Fullscreen modes without restarting the game.
