Windows 11's File Explorer has been criticized for sluggish performance, with users experiencing unresponsive commands and crashes. Windows 10 still retains over 30% of the desktop Windows market share despite being out of support. Disabling the "Automatic Folder Type Discovery" feature can enhance File Explorer's speed. This feature scans folders and assigns view types based on contents, which can slow down access, especially in folders with many files. To disable it, users must back up the Registry and navigate to a specific path in the Registry Editor to create a new string value named "FolderType" with the value "NotSpecified." After making this change, users will notice improved loading speed, but folders will display a generic view instead of one tailored to specific file types.

Amazon Aurora Serverless offers an on-demand, auto-scaling database management solution that adjusts to workload demands, scaling up during high usage and down to zero during inactivity. The latest version, platform version 4, has a 30% performance increase over version 3 and allows users to monitor performance metrics effectively. Benchmark tests show that both Aurora MySQL and Aurora PostgreSQL on platform version 4 achieve a 27% to 34% increase in New Orders per Minute (NOPM) compared to version 3. The autoscaling mechanism in Aurora Serverless has been improved, doubling the default scaling rate and achieving maximum capacity in 22 minutes, a 45% improvement over the previous 40 minutes. A Sysbench workload test indicates that version 4 completes tasks 27% faster and at a 28% lower cost compared to version 3. Additionally, platform version 4 incorporates more metrics for better scaling decisions, enhancing performance in resource competition scenarios. To check the current platform version of an Aurora Serverless cluster, users can navigate to the Amazon RDS console or use the AWS CLI command provided.

Security researchers have found that the Binance Android app includes SDKs from ByteDance and Tencent, along with 13 additional third-party trackers. This raises privacy concerns for users, as the TikTok SDK collects device fingerprints, behavioral signals, and potentially clipboard data, while the WeChat SDK adds functionalities not necessary for a financial trading platform. The incorporation of these SDKs could expose sensitive financial information. Under EU GDPR and FTC regulations, undisclosed telemetry in financial apps may be considered deceptive trade practices, potentially leading to regulatory repercussions for Binance. Users are advised to revoke permissions from the app or switch to the browser-based platform. The situation could prompt regulatory scrutiny and audits of cryptocurrency asset management apps.

The Microsoft Teams desktop client has a bug affecting users on macOS and Windows after the update to build 26072.519.4556.7438, specifically with the right-click functionality not working. Users are advised to use keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X, Ctrl+V) for clipboard operations. The issue was first mentioned on the Patchmanagement.org mailing list, referencing issue TM1279908, which noted service degradation alerts from Microsoft 365. Users have reported problems with copying and pasting URLs, text, and images, with the paste option grayed out in the context menu. Microsoft has identified a potential root cause and is rolling out a fix while monitoring telemetry data, with the next status update expected on April 21, 2026.

A newly identified remote access trojan, STX RAT, emerged in 2026, integrating hidden remote desktop access with credential theft features. The name "STX" comes from the Start of Text magic byte x02, which it appends to communications with its command-and-control (C2) server. Initial sightings were reported in late February 2026, when it was delivered via a browser-downloaded VBScript file to a financial organization. By early March, Malwarebytes noted a campaign distributing STX RAT through compromised FileZilla installers. Researchers from eSentire’s Threat Response Unit analyzed the malware, which includes extensive anti-analysis measures and employs techniques like AMSI-ghosting. Once operational, STX RAT connects to a C2 server at 95.216.51.236, transmitting system information securely. It targets saved credentials from applications like FileZilla and includes a Hidden Virtual Network Computing (HVNC) module, allowing attackers to control a victim's machine without detection. Security teams are advised to block the C2 IP and implement detection rules to mitigate the threat.
