Google has introduced the Personal Intelligence feature on Gemini for Android Auto, enhancing the driving experience by integrating with Google apps to provide personalized responses. This feature began rolling out today and will be available in the coming months for Google built-in cars. Users who have previously activated Personal Intelligence in the Gemini app will have their settings automatically applied in their cars, while new users can enable it through the Gemini settings. Personal Intelligence utilizes data from various Google applications, such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Maps, to deliver precise answers to user inquiries. The feature is currently available for personal Google accounts for users aged 18 and older, but not for Workspace business, enterprise, or education accounts. Users in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the UK, and Nigeria do not have access to this feature at this time.

Starting September 30, 2026, Google will implement changes to the Android game distribution economics through the Google Play Games Level Up program, reducing the commission on game revenue exceeding million annually from 20% to 15%. Developers must launch their games on Android simultaneously with other platforms to qualify for this discount; otherwise, they will be ineligible for six months. The new fee structure includes a baseline rate cut to 10% on the first million and 20% on earnings above that, while the Level Up program allows qualifying titles to pay 15% on revenue beyond the first million. The rollout of the Level Up program will begin in Australia, the European Economic Area, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States on September 30, 2026, followed by South Korea on December 31, 2026, and the rest of the world on September 30, 2027. If a game launches on a non-Android platform first, it will face a six-month waiting period before qualifying for Level Up pricing. Existing games launched before September 30, 2026, are exempt from this penalty.

Microsoft has extended its Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for Windows 10 consumers until October 12, 2027, providing critical security updates for eligible systems. Windows 10 remains functional, but no new features will be introduced, and users must ensure their devices are enrolled in the ESU program to receive updates. Users are advised to check their computer's compatibility with Windows 11 and consider upgrading, as it is available as a free upgrade for eligible machines. If a computer does not meet the requirements for Windows 11, the ESU extension allows additional time to plan for replacement. Users should keep their internet security software and applications updated and maintain backups of important data.

Approximately 17% of all Windows client devices are still running Windows 10, equating to about one in six machines. Windows 11 accounts for 78% of Windows devices, with third-party trackers indicating it surpassed 70% of desktop share as of February 2026. Official support for Windows 10 ended in October 2025, but Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates (ESU) program will provide patches until October 2027 for eligible devices. A typical Windows 10 device has an average of 1,903 active security vulnerabilities, nearly three times the 652 CVE-tracked flaws found on a Windows 11 machine. 66% of Windows 10 vulnerabilities are classified as "high" or "critical." Small and medium enterprises have 21.4% of their Windows devices still on Windows 10, while larger enterprises have 16.6%. The healthcare and pharmaceuticals sectors have 23% of devices on Windows 10, followed by consumer and retail at 22%, and manufacturing at 18%. Lansweeper is urging organizations to enroll in the ESU program and address reasons for remaining on Windows 10 as 2026 approaches.
