Microsoft has updated the minimum and recommended system requirements for Minecraft: Java Edition for the first time in 17 years. The new minimum requirements are as follows:
- OS: Windows 10 64-Bit, Windows on ARM, macOS 12+, or Linux 64-bit (previously Windows 7, macOS 10.14.5 Mojave, or later)
- CPU: Intel Core i3-10100 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100 / Qualcomm Snapdragon X / Apple M1 (previously Intel Core i3-3210 / AMD A8-8600 / Apple M1)
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 950 / AMD Radeon RX 460 / Intel Arc A310 / Intel i5-6400 (iGPU) (previously Intel HD Graphics 4000 / AMD Radeon R5)
- Memory: 8GB (discrete GPU) / 12GB (iGPU) (previously 2GB)
The new recommended requirements are:
- OS: Windows 11 64-bit, macOS 14+, or Linux 64-bit (previously Windows 10, macOS 10.14.5 Mojave, or later)
- CPU: Intel Core i5-12400 / AMD Ryzen 5 5600 / Apple M2 Pro (previously Intel Core i5-4690 / AMD A10-7800 / Apple M1)
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT / Intel Arc A580 (previously Nvidia GeForce 700 series / AMD Radeon RX 200 series)
- Memory: 16GB (previously 4GB)
Players whose systems do not meet the new minimum requirements can switch to the Bedrock Edition to continue gameplay, though this may result in the loss of certain mods.
Fans of Grand Theft Auto can download a free mission pack titled Vice City: New Legacy for GTA: Vice City, created by modder Rohansrinivasan123. This DLC includes 25 original story missions featuring gang wars, heists, and shootouts, along with new characters and storylines. The mod is designed using Sanny Builder and CLEO and is available on the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nexus Mods page, specifically for the original version of the game. Rockstar Games is preparing to release Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with pre-orders available for the Standard and Ultimate Editions. Pre-loads will begin on November 12, 2026.
