Psyonix has integrated Easy Anti-Cheat into Rocket League while supporting Linux platforms. Although Rocket League is no longer available on Steam, it can still be played on SteamOS through the Epic Games platform using Proton for compatibility. Other titles like Battlefield 6, Call of Duty, and EA Sports FC 26 are not accessible on SteamOS due to compatibility issues with anti-cheat systems. Psyonix's efforts may encourage other developers to improve Linux support. Emerging titles like Splitgate: Arena Reloaded and Rocket League are contributing to broader Linux compatibility, but challenges remain due to some publishers' reluctance to invest in these solutions.

A new update for Terraria, version 1.4.5.7, is set to enhance combat by addressing long-standing challenges such as aggro management, invisible hitboxes, and offscreen attacks. The update will include adjustments to the four core classes and introduce new early-game magic options. New items catering to niche playstyles, like a sapling minion for Summoners and a revamped Daybloom plant, will also be featured. The development of this update is taking longer than previous fixes, and further tweaks may occur in a subsequent update, 1.4.5.8, before the team can finalize 1.4.5 and focus on crossplay features. The tModLoader team is working on porting to 1.4.5, but it will take several months to refine for release. Meanwhile, updates for the existing tModLoader compatible with Terraria 1.4.4 are ongoing.

Google is enhancing app adaptability for larger devices with the upcoming release of Android 17, which aims to resolve issues with apps not adjusting layouts across different screen sizes. In previous versions, apps were limited by developer-defined rules, but Android 17 will override these settings for apps targeting API 37, allowing them to run in full-screen mode. Some exceptions may apply, particularly for gaming applications that require fixed screen ratios. The final version of Android 17 is expected to be released around mid-2026, with Samsung planning to launch its One UI 9 alongside new foldable devices.

Microsoft has clarified that while 16GB of RAM is the baseline for gaming, 32GB is now promoted as the ideal upgrade, especially for users running applications like Discord, web browsers, or streaming tools alongside gaming. The company continues to recommend 8GB as the minimum for Windows, but emphasizes that 32GB is becoming a mainstream option due to the increasing demands of modern gaming setups. Microsoft previously described 32GB as "ideal for serious gamers" and highlights that it helps manage multitasking and background applications effectively. The growing memory requirements are attributed to the evolution of games, which feature larger assets and higher resolution textures, as well as the resource-intensive nature of many Windows applications. Additionally, consumers are facing higher costs for memory upgrades due to increased demands and a memory shortage exacerbated by AI companies. Microsoft is also working on developing more efficient native Windows 11 applications to address these challenges.
