Pixel users are experiencing a "missing incoming call" bug that prevents notifications for incoming calls across various Pixel devices. This issue is linked to the Google Phone app and has persisted for several months, affecting users even after updates, including those on the Android 17 QPR1 Beta 5. Reports indicate that some users have resolved the issue by disabling the Call Screen feature. Android Central has noted the problem and reached out to Google for clarification.

Google has updated the Gemini overlay on Android, introducing an expanded plus menu that now includes Videos, Music, Canvas, and Guided Learning, in addition to the existing Images and Personal Intelligence tools. Deep Research remains exclusive to the full app due to its requirement for a larger prompt box. The top section of the interface, including Screen, Photos, Camera, Files, Drive, and Notebooks, remains unchanged, but the repositioning of the carousel may affect one-handed usability. These enhancements allow users to access most of the Gemini experience seamlessly across Android devices without launching the full application. The changes are being rolled out with stable version 17.32 of the Google app.

Microsoft has released the Insider Experimental Preview Build 26300.8687 for Windows 11 on June 12, 2026, which improves the Windows Search functionality. The update allows the search tool to accurately locate applications even with misspellings, omitted letters, or partial words. For example, typing “utlook” will yield Outlook as a result. Enhancements in the ranking of settings search results ensure that the most relevant options appear at the top. The update also improves local file search, allowing users to find files like “Severance-S2E5” more effectively. A new feature is being tested that will let users turn off web results in Windows Search, focusing exclusively on local content. Currently, disabling Bing results requires navigating through the Windows Registry, but a toggle in the Settings menu is being introduced for easier access. The June 2026 update has already implemented search enhancements, including returning file results after just two characters and a feature called Search by Substring, which allows users to find files using any segment of a filename.

Microsoft is set to introduce a feature for Windows 11 called Cloud-Initiated Driver Recovery (CIDR), which will automatically revert problematic driver updates to stable versions via Windows Update. This feature aims to improve user experience by eliminating the need for manual uninstallation of faulty drivers. CIDR will monitor drivers and, if a driver is found to be problematic, it can initiate a remote rollback to restore a stable version. The process will not require additional software installations or changes to existing workflows for hardware manufacturers. The automated rollback will specifically target only the affected hardware components, ensuring other drivers and system functions remain unaffected. Initial testing for CIDR is scheduled between May and August 2026, with a broader rollout expected in September 2026.

Android Auto beta users on version 17.0.162144 can now switch between active media applications with a swipe, using an interface that displays cards for available media apps. This feature follows an update to the media app switcher in Android 17 QPR1 Beta 3 and improves user experience while driving. The stable version of Android Auto currently does not support this media app switching, requiring manual navigation to different apps. The new feature is currently limited to the beta channel but is expected to be available in the stable version soon.
