Cozy wizard life simulation game Aether Wizard Life launches in fall 2028 for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC

Kinetic Publishing has partnered with Vonder Games to release the life simulation game, Aether Wizard Life, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam, scheduled for fall 2028. Players will take on the role of a young apprentice mage in the haunted town of Starfall, starting each day in a customizable walking castle. Gameplay includes growing magical crops, caring for exotic creatures, exploring dungeons, and engaging with townsfolk for side quests. The game features over 30 wizard skills, customization options for the player's wizard, and the ability to pursue romantic relationships with 20 dateable NPCs. Key elements include mastery of magic, exploration of the haunted town, castle personalization, and assisting townsfolk while uncovering the mystery of missing mages. A new video and screenshots have been released to showcase the game.

In Mistria, players can pursue various marriage candidates, each with unique storylines, and encounter two secret singles later in the game. Gifting is essential for building relationships, with players able to give one gift daily to earn Friendship points. Engaging in quests, especially those related to town upgrades, unlocks special events like the Shooting Star Festival date. Accumulating Friendship points unlocks heart event scenes that deepen character stories, and players can confess feelings and date candidates upon reaching 8 hearts. Players can date multiple characters simultaneously without jealousy or rival marriages, but breakups can occur if a player proposes to another while dating. There is currently no divorce feature. Friendship points are earned through conversations and gift-giving, and they do not decay over time. After reaching 10 hearts, players can propose, leading to personalized wedding planning and a celebratory ceremony. Post-wedding, spouses assist with farm chores, and players must schedule weddings carefully to avoid conflicts with significant events.

Donkey Kong Land PC Fan Remake Available for Download

A fan-made remake of the Nintendo Game Boy title Donkey Kong Land has been created by YouTube user ‘kasquez’ and is now available for PC. This remake features over 30 full-sized levels, refined controls, and updated graphics and sound that closely resemble the SNES version. It does not require the original ROM file and includes assets from the original game. The project is at risk of being taken down due to copyright concerns from Nintendo. Other notable fan projects in the gaming community include remakes of titles like Superman, Halo 3: ODST, and Metal Gear Solid, as well as various tech demos and ports.

Fields of Mistria 1.0 changes: What’s new in the full release version?

Fields of Mistria 1.0 has been fully released after two years of early access, featuring significant updates and enhancements. The town's story is complete, with repairs following an earthquake finalized. Players can now experience ten heart events for datable characters, allowing for deeper relationships. Marriage and children have been introduced, enabling players to start families. The Saturday Market has two new merchants, Stillwell and Zorel. An achievements system rewards players retroactively, and there is no need to start a new save file to access the new content. Key updates include the completion of the Town Repair Questline, an increased Town Renown Cap, the addition of the Mistril Town Rank Event, and new quests. Moonlighter is a management simulation and roguelite dungeon crawling game, currently available for free on Steam until August 9, as part of a promotion for its sequel, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, which is in early access and set to officially release on September 2. Moonlighter 2 features combat mechanics influenced by Hades, an isometric perspective, and a node-choosing mechanic inspired by FTL and Slay the Spire, moving away from the dungeon exploration style of the original game.
