Leak of Forza Horizon 6 Ahead of Official Release
The highly anticipated racing project, Forza Horizon 6, has found its way onto illegal platforms more than a week before its scheduled launch. This significant leak is attributed to a technical oversight by Playground Games, the studio behind the title. In a misstep, developers inadvertently uploaded unencrypted game data to Steam, amounting to over 155 gigabytes.
The online community quickly responded to this vulnerability. Members of specialized forums were able to download the files, analyze their structure, and successfully launch the game. According to reports from the portal Rozetked, fully functional builds of the racing arcade have since begun to circulate widely on piracy sites.
However, engaging with this unauthorized version of the game carries severe consequences. Users have reported that those who attempted to run the leaked build prior to the official release face permanent hardware bans.
The legitimate version of the base Forza Horizon 6 is set to be released on May 19. Meanwhile, purchasers of the premium edition will have the opportunity to start their gameplay slightly earlier, on May 15. Additionally, the game will be available on the Game Pass Ultimate subscription service.
