Microsoft downgrades $20 Copilot Pro for consumers after turning Windows 11 app into PWA

Microsoft Reimagines Copilot for Consumers

Microsoft has made a significant change to its Copilot Pro subscription service by removing the GPT Builder feature. This move comes as a surprise to many users, as GPT Builder was a premium feature that allowed for personalized and customized versions of “ChatGPT”.

With the removal of GPT Builder, Copilot Pro subscribers will no longer have access to this feature. Microsoft has assured users that all Copilot GPT Builder data has been deleted, and any existing GPTs created by users are no longer accessible.

While this decision may make Copilot Pro less appealing to some users, Microsoft has stated that the focus is now on enhancing other AI features within the service. Additionally, GPT Builder will still be available for enterprise customers.

For those who still wish to build their own GPT or customize AI behavior, the option to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus for is available. Microsoft has also reminded users that they can cancel their Copilot Pro subscription if it no longer meets their needs.

Microsoft Surveying Copilot Users

On July 1, Microsoft sent out a survey to Copilot Pro users to gather feedback on how they use the AI service. The survey aims to understand user expectations and experiences with Copilot Pro, including the Windows app integration.

Users were asked to provide insights on how Copilot has impacted their lives, their opinions on AI, any features that did not meet expectations, and whether the performance of Copilot has declined over time.

While GPT Builder may no longer be available for Copilot Pro users, Microsoft is committed to exploring new ways to enhance the service and continue providing value to consumers.
