Microsoft Corporation has unveiled a new feature in Windows 11 designed to address the performance issues that users have reported since the operating system’s launch in October 2021. This update introduces an automatic logging mechanism, allowing users to submit real-time performance logs through the Feedback Hub whenever they encounter slow or unresponsive behavior on their devices.
Enhancing User Feedback
Released as part of a recent Insider test build, this feature aims to streamline the process for users enrolled in the Windows Insider Programme, making it easier for them to report problems. By facilitating the collection of diagnostic information, Microsoft hopes to better understand and rectify the performance complaints that have been prevalent among Windows 11 users.
In a statement, Microsoft highlighted the importance of user feedback: “Windows Insiders are encouraged to provide feedback when experiencing PC issues related to slow or sluggish performance, allowing the Feedback Hub to automatically collect these logs, which will help us root cause issues faster.” This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to improving user experience.
Addressing Performance Concerns
Since its debut, Windows 11 has faced criticism regarding inconsistent performance across various hardware setups. Users have voiced concerns ranging from unsatisfactory gaming experiences on modern processors to a general perception that Windows 11 operates slower than its predecessor, Windows 10. In response, Microsoft has already implemented several internal adjustments aimed at enhancing system performance, including updates to the Taskbar, notification settings, and quick access features earlier this year.

In addition to user-facing upgrades, Microsoft is tightening standards related to driver development. As part of the 25H2 update, developers will be required to conduct static analyses on their drivers before receiving certification. This new requirement aims to identify potential issues in the driver code early in the deployment process, thereby enhancing system stability and performance.
