In response to this issue, Microsoft has introduced a Known Issue Rollback (KIR), which serves as a swift and targeted remedy for non-security-related bugs. This temporary fix involves rolling back specific updates while the company develops a more permanent solution. Users can easily apply this rollback to their devices.
What Windows users need to do
For individuals using personal or non-managed work computers, the resolution will be automatically deployed via Windows Update and Microsoft Update within the next day. To expedite the application of this fix, Microsoft recommends restarting your PC. A simple reboot may help ensure that the latest update takes effect promptly.
For enterprise devices under the management of IT departments, the resolution will occur once network administrators install and configure the Windows 11 24H2 and Windows Server 2025 KB5053656 Known Issue Rollback Group Policy. This policy can be located under Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates. A restart of any affected devices will also be necessary to implement the new group policy settings.
