Microsoft is making sharing your screen with Copilot on Windows 11 easier — adds share screen button in the Taskbar

Microsoft has unveiled a fresh preview build of Windows 11 for Insiders in both the Dev and Beta Channels, introducing two innovative features aimed at enhancing the functionality of Copilot across the operating system.

Enhanced Text Translation and Sharing Features

The first notable addition is the ability to translate text directly from the Click To Do interface using Copilot. Users with Copilot+ PCs can now simply hold down the Windows key and click their trackpad to access Click To Do, enabling them to translate text displayed on their screens. When text in a different language is selected, a translation suggestion will emerge, sending the selected content to the Copilot app for a seamless translation experience.

In addition to translation capabilities, Microsoft has made it easier to share content displayed on the screen with Copilot. With the integration of Copilot Vision, a new button will appear on the Windows 11 Taskbar when users hover over open applications. This feature mirrors the familiar sharing button seen during Teams meetings, streamlining the process of sharing your screen with Copilot.

While Copilot Vision remains exclusive to users in the United States for the time being, Microsoft’s commitment to expanding access to these AI capabilities is evident. By embedding these features directly into the Taskbar, the company aims to simplify user interaction with Copilot, eliminating the need to first open the application and enable Copilot Vision mode. Now, a simple hover over an app icon followed by a click on the share button allows Copilot to view the selected application effortlessly.

Currently, these AI enhancements are undergoing testing with Insiders on Windows 11, with a potential rollout to production PCs anticipated in the coming months, contingent on user feedback. As these developments unfold, the community is invited to share their thoughts on the new Copilot features and their potential impact on the Windows 11 experience.
