In a recent revelation, Microsoft has inadvertently disclosed plans to implement a subtle yet intriguing modification to Windows 11 in the near future. The company is set to increase the height of the search box located on the Taskbar and within the Start menu by a mere 4 whole pixels. While this may seem like an insignificant adjustment, it is expected to create a noticeable impact on the user interface.
The revised search box will adopt a chunkier appearance, occupying more visual space both above and below it. This alteration will bring the search box closer to the top edge of the Taskbar, while also slightly displacing content within the Start menu.

While Microsoft has not provided an official explanation for this change, speculation suggests that it may be an effort to harmonize the search box’s design with that of the Ask Copilot feature, which presents a different aesthetic from the current Windows Search box. As of now, this update has not been made available for preview.
