Microsoft is making strides in enhancing user experience on its Copilot Plus PCs, particularly those powered by Intel and AMD processors. The tech giant has recently previewed a live translation feature, which is now available to Windows 11 Insiders in the Dev Channel. This innovative tool enables users to translate audio from over 44 languages into English subtitles, significantly broadening accessibility and communication capabilities.
Live Translation Capabilities
The live translation feature, which initially debuted on Qualcomm-powered Copilot Plus PCs, is designed to work seamlessly with any audio played through these devices. Whether users are watching a YouTube video, participating in a live video conference, or listening to a recorded session, the system will provide real-time captions in English for audio spoken in supported languages. Currently, it can translate languages such as Spanish, French, Russian, Chinese, Korean, and Arabic, among others.
In addition to live translation, Microsoft is actively enhancing its AI offerings for Intel and AMD-powered Copilot Plus PCs. Earlier this month, the company began testing a feature called Recall, which captures snapshots of user activity and allows individuals to retrieve specific memories from their device. This functionality is part of a broader effort to integrate more advanced AI features into the user experience.
Furthermore, Microsoft is also updating the live translation capabilities on Qualcomm-equipped Copilot Plus PCs. Windows 11 Insiders in the Dev Channel can now translate select languages into Simplified Chinese, further expanding the utility of this feature across different platforms.
