In celebration of the company’s upcoming 50th anniversary in 2025, this fall’s sweater showcases beloved figures from the Windows universe, including the ever-memorable Clippy and the nostalgic Paint application, tapping into that sweet nostalgia that many users cherish.
The Windows Ugly Sweater for 2025 is available for purchase directly through the online Microsoft Company Store, allowing fans to don a piece of tech history this holiday season.
This annual tradition began with the Windows XP Ugly Sweater in 2019, which was exclusively gifted to a select group of influencers and fans. The following year marked a turning point, as the Ugly Sweater became accessible to a broader audience, featuring a design inspired by the classic Windows Paint app.
In 2021, the theme shifted to the iconic game Minesweeper, while 2022 brought back the beloved Clippy. The last installment before this year’s release was in 2023, which celebrated the iconic Windows XP Bliss wallpaper. Interestingly, 2024 saw no Ugly Sweater, but the return of this cherished tradition in 2025 is certainly welcomed by fans.
